Pre-Concert Chat
Meet the Phoenix Chorale’s new Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas during this 30-minute pre-concert chat moderated by Webb Center Executive Director Cathy Weiss. With a music degree from Cambridge and a law degree from Oxford, Gabbitas has a storied history that includes singing with one of Britain’s premiere men’s vocal ensembles, The King’s Singers, for 15 years. Gabbitas is also currently serving as an Artist Professor at the University of Redlands in California.
Concert
This special holiday concert highlights the Grammy Award-winning Chorale’s memorable Christmas programs in 2018 and 2019. Under the baton of guest conductors Anton Armstrong and André J. Thomas, musical selections include “Glory, Glory, Glory to the Newborn King” by André Thomas, Rosephanye Powell’s “The Word Was God,” “Silent Night,” “The Christmas Song,” and more. Paired with sing-alongs and new music by the Phoenix Chorale, this broadcast joins us all together in a spirit of hope, peace, renewal and the musical warmth of the season.
